Michael Reinhart found these two Western Bluebirds in fields of Johnny Tuck, Triphysaria eriantha ssp. Rosea, a native wildflower blooming in profusion at Black Point on The Sea Ranch. Here is the male posing in the wildflowers.

And here is the female.

So beautiful to see. Thanks to Mike for allowing me to share his photos with you here. And thanks to Mary Sue Ittner for the ID of the wildflowers.

It's foggy over the ocean, but sunny most places this afternoon. At my place, temps are in the mid 70s. Nice!

Ron Bolander found a Western Bluebird couple. The male is the more brightly-colored bird on the left.

Here is a photo of the male. Yes, he's quite handsome!

Thanks to Ron for allowing me to share his photos with you here.

It's a lovely day on the Mendonoma Coast. Fog is out over the ocean, but away from the bluff edge, it's sunny with gently breezes. It's in the 70's this afternoon.

To keep your mind off the news, here are three beautiful birds photographed recently by Sara Bogard at the Point Arena-Stornetta Lands bluffs. First, a Western Bluebird.

Then a Western Meadowlark perched on a post for Sara.

And finally this handsome Surf Scoter.

So, if you are troubled by today's events, think of these birds who are thriving.

Thanks to Sara for allowing me to share her photos with you here.

Fog blankets the ocean, but Gualala was sunny today. Changes to come!

This male Western Bluebird took quite an energetic bath at the birdbath Pat and Bill Mutch put out in their garden.

Putting water out for wildlife is sure to bring you fun sightings like this.

Thanks to Bill for allowing me to share his photo with you here. I had a happy discovery this morning - a Chestnut-backed Chickadee nest in a nesting box we put up earlier this year. I will try to get some photos to share.
