Erin McAllister noticed the female Bald Eagle on a snag in the Gualala River.

As Erin watched, the big eagle took flight and she took this video.

What struck me while watching this video is how very big she is! A female Bald Eagle's wingspan is close to seven feet!

We feel fortunate a Bald Eagle pair made the Gualala River area their home and that they successfully raised a chick this year. I will be sharing more photos of the eagle family here soon.

Thanks to Erin for allowing me to share her photo and video with you here.

It's a beautiful day on the Mendonoma Coast today, warm with a light breeze.

Brenna Dix spotted this sweet Gray Fox in a blackberry bush. It looks like he or she is enjoying the sun too.

Gray Foxes eat a varied diet, including small mammals and berries. Here's a video Brenna took of the kit enjoying a nice meal.

Lots of lovely clouds making for an interesting sky today.

Craig Tooley visited tide pools off The Sea Ranch recently at low tide. He found this vibrant pink nudibranch, a Hopkin's Rose, Okenia rosacea.

It used to be rare to seem them this far north, but there have been several recent sightings. Craig photographed the same nudibranch reflected in the water.

And Craig also took a short video of the animal on the move, a real treat.
