Yesterday we had the first storm, which brought 1.94 inches of rain. I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the color in the sky. I don't believe I've seen the sky look quite like this before.

The colors intensified for a minute as the sun began to sink below the horizon. I saw a green flash for a second or two. I caught a hint of it in the photo below.

At 4 pm on Sunday, we've had a little over 0.90 inches and it's still raining. My season to date roared past 41 inches yesterday. 50 inches is a "normal" wet winter at Rick's and my place in Anchor Bay. Hooray!

On and off storm systems have brought dramatic clouds to the Mendonoma Coast. Karen Wilder was out at the Point Arena Lighthouse bluffs and she captured this lovely sight.

Sunrises have been striking too. I photographed this one from my deck in Anchor Bay on Oct. 19. A vision of loveliness in pink!

Thanks to Karen for allowing me to share her photos with you here.

Rain and more rain! The  temperature is quite mild and the rain continues to fall today. A big storm is due in Sunday, an atmospheric river of rain. Will it be enough to open the Gualala River? We'll be watching.

So, if it's pretty exciting to find a Buck's antler, how exciting is it to find a pair? That's just what happened to Dede Plaisted.

That's pretty rare! Look for discarded antlers now, especially where deer bed down.

Today we are receiving a drenching, and tomorrow looks to be a washout. Stay safe as many roads are flooded.

Thanks to Dede for allowing me to share her photo with  you here.

...sailors take warning. Tony Lucero captured such a sight during a recent sunrise.

Storms continue to arrive, bringing lots of rain to the Mendonoma coast. Rain is in the forecast through Wednesday, but then...but then...dry, sunny weather is ahead!

Thanks to Tony for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

All these storms have brought big surf. Bill Oxford went out between storms to Black Point Beach on The Sea Ranch. He said the waves were massive.

We had a big storm today, which brought over two inches of rain. And it's still raining this afternoon. The weekend and the first of next week is predicted to be dry, so we will have a chance to dry out.

Thanks to Bill for allowing me to share his photo with you here. To see much more of Bill's nature photography, here is the link to his website: http://searanchphotos.com/
