I heard rumbling, the rumble of thunder. I looked out at the ocean and saw this rain cloud headed right for Rick's and my place!
Here's a short video of thunder, followed by a video of the downpour.

We've had a series of storms hit the Mendonoma Coast. Craig Tooley photographed one of the storm clouds as it approached.
There is a lot of motion in this photo of Craig's!
Thanks to Craig for allowing me to share his photo with you here. To see much more of Craig's nature photography, here is his website: http://www.ruffimage.com
Thursday night/Friday early hours saw a good storm move through. At 7 am this morning, there was 3.40 inches in our rain gauge. More rain to come, but the weekend is looking dry for the New Year's festivities.
Gary Levenson-Palmer captured this beautiful photo near Irish Beach this morning. You can also see the Pacific Ocean is roiled up, and - wow - is it loud today.
Carolyn Andre photographed a rainbow on The Sea Ranch.
I also want to show you what I saw from my house in Anchor Bay just after dawn this morning. Quite a storm cloud!
I love the cloud shows that often appear after a storm. We got another inch of rain last night and the storm door is open. Thank you, Mother Nature.
And thanks to Gary, Carolyn and Jon for allowing me to share their photos with you here.
Bettye Winters photographed a big storm cloud just off Manchester Beach.
And in the second photo Bettye captured sunbeams, also known as God's rays, a beautiful sight.
Today we have had a windy, wet storm move through. The Pacific Ocean is roaring!
Thanks to Bettye for allowing me to share her photos with you here.
Rich Kuehn had the most beautiful sighting in front of his The Sea Ranch home - a storm cloud with a rainbow, a crashing wave and Black-tailed Deer on the bluff.
It's a "peace on earth, goodwill towards all" moment. Rick and I, with family and friends, including Rich Kuehn, will be celebrating Christmas today and tomorrow. So please allow me to wish you and yours Merry Christmas. And if you do not celebrate Christmas, perhaps you can simply enjoy this beautiful photo of this Coast that we love so much. Thanks to Rich for allowing me to share it with you here.
