It's nothing but blue skies today but as the last storm moved out, beautiful rainbows appeared. Kathleen Mills captured this one.

And Jon Loveless photographed this one.

And finally, Robert Scarola's rainbow.

They were all taken on The Sea Ranch but from different vantage points.

Thanks to Kathleen, Jon and Robert for allowing me to share their photos with you here.

Beautiful dark clouds with rain showers in them mixed in with brilliant sunshine. That means we will have a rainbow day. I took these photos from our front deck in Anchor Bay.

The rain has moved out and there is sunny weather in our immediate future. This is a perfect time to visit the Mendonoma Coast!

Craig Tooley was out with his camera and photographed some of the big waves that have been hitting the coast. The first two show the action at Hearn Gulch, which is found in Mendocino County at mile marker 10.0 just north of Iversen Road. As you can clearly see in the second photo, there is an impressive blowhole there.

And Craig captured big waves and a rainbow - just lovely to see.

To learn more about Hearn Gulch, here is the link to the Redwood Coast Land Conservancy: http://www.rc-lc.org/ These fine folks have worked to bring us public access to Hearn Gulch, Cooks Beach and the Gualala Bluff Trail, and I, for one, am very grateful!

While this photo wasn't taken on the Mendonoma Coast, I thought it was so wonderful that I should share it here. Suzanne Kritz was on horseback at the Coastal Equine Ranch in San Luis Obispo when she saw this sight.

A Bald Eagle and a rainbow by Suzanne Kritz

We are having more sightings of Bald Eagles here. There are two adults, presumably a mated pair, now seen regularly at the mouth of the Russian River at Jenner. We hope to have Bald Eagles nest here, as it looks like they are expanding their territory.

Thanks to Suzanne for allowing me to share her beautiful photo with you here.

A series of storms has rumbled through the Mendonoma Coast. Today is a "wait five minutes" kind of day - first it's raining, then the sun comes out, whoops - it's raining again! Of course we are having rainbows. Beth Kattleman photographed a spectacular one recently at The Sea Ranch.

There is a faint double rainbow over the vibrant one. Linda Bostwick photographed a rainbow appearing next to a hailstorm near Point Arena.

Rainbow days are one of the privileges of being on the Mendonoma Coast!
