Rainbow days are one of the privileges of being on the Mendonoma coast. Lucienne Allen caught this vibrant rainbow arching over her arbor.

It feels like good luck when you see a rainbow like this one.

Thanks to Lucienne for allowing me to share her photo with you here. We have sun today after all the rains. And the holiday weekend looks to be dry too.

Rozann Grunig wrote, “On Christmas – and Hanukkah – morning, I awoke to see this rainbow from a north-facing window. It wasn’t raining, but the sunrise was full of pinks and oranges. It lasted perhaps 20 second, then was gone.

“I showed my photo to George’s cousin, a former military pilot. He said this is virga, which is rain, ice or mist in the clouds that evaporates before hitting the ground. It causes streaks of light as the sun refracts light through the moisture.”

Thanks to Rozann for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Michelle Welch was amazed to see a huge rainbow embracing the town Gualala. It felt like a blessing.

How wonderful would it be to look over at your house and see a complete rainbow over it? That's what Davina Allen saw two weeks ago.

This morning, after a nice rainstorm, a few remaining storm clouds were seen. A short rainbow appeared for a few minutes. I watched it but Susan Routledge-Jackson photographed it, with Fish Rocks seemingly the rainbow's end. A lovely photo for you today.
