I love butterflies. We see many different kinds here on the Mendonoma coast.

It really warmed up today, warm and breezy.
Warm weather brings butterflies aplenty. A beautiful Swallowtail has been flitting around my garden. Robert Van Syoc recently found a lovely Painted Lady.
Here's a Pale Swallowtail. The first photo shows it hitching a ride on Ken Bailey's hood, and the second photo shows the butterfly moving over to Wendy Bailey's shoulder.
Wherever we find them, we love to see butterflies!

A Pale Swallowtail - Papilio eurymedon - visited our neighbor's wax myrtles yesterday delighting us with its beauty. One of the caterpillar hosts for this butterfly is the California Coffee-Berry bush, which we have growing on our property in Anchor Bay.
