They are pretty rare. Look for one in the morning hours when the fog is about bluff high. Perhaps you will see a fogbow too.

Margaret Lindgren was out on the bluffs when she saw this huge flock of Brown Pelicans winging their way northward.
Here is a closer look at two adult Brown Pelicans with their white heads.
These birds are being impacted by the oil spill off of Santa Barbara. I saw a photo of one of these beautiful birds completely coated in oil. We must find a way to never let this happen again.

Margaret Lindgren noticed this Bobcat looking at her on The Sea Ranch recently.
The Sea Ranch has a lot of open space, much of it meadows. And it seems like these meadows have an inexhaustible amount of gophers. Bobcats LOVE gophers so if you are lucky you might see one hunting rodents in the middle of the day. That's what happened to Margaret.
