Margaret Lindgren, owner of Unbeaten Path Tours, was on a tour at Salt Point State Park, one of my favorite parks. Look at the beautiful waterfall she found near the south end of the park.

She found several creeks too.

Winter is a wonderful time to be on the Mendonoma Coast.

I can personally vouch for her tours - I learned a lot from her while having a fun hike.

Rain coming back tomorrow. The waterfalls will be pumped up, for sure!

We are proud of the Point Arena Lighthouse. It's 115 feet tall, gleaming white, a sentinel to the past when ships needed its light to guide their way. Craig Tooley took this photo from an airplane.

Margaret Lindgren, who owns Unbeaten Path Tours, recently led a tour out on the Point Arena-Stornetta Lands at low tide. Here are three photos of the beautiful scenery, and the Point Arena Lighthouse in the distance.

Margaret Lindgren spotted Western Dog Violets blooming on the southern portion of the Point Arena-Stornetta Lands. They are so beautiful and a real treat to find.

This wildflower is found in moist meadows. It has medicinal qualities - a tea made from dried leaves purportedly treats stomach distress. And the flowers are used to make purple dye. I'd rather just look at this little beauty in its natural abode.

A big storm is hitting the coast - lots of rain and wind. It's an exciting time to be here, experiencing the full force of the storm.

The end of a beautiful day by Margaret Lindgren

The sun is behind the clouds, getting ready to set. A Gull sits on the rock and, for this moment, all is right in the world.
