Jan de Vries spotted a young Bobcat near his home of The Sea Ranch. It sure looks to be a young one.

This Bobcat hasn't really filled out yet but he's already out hunting rodents. Have I mentioned The Sea Ranch has plenty of gophers? Bobcats can be seen hunting gophers in grassy meadows during the daytime.

Thanks to Jan for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

It is always a treat to see Gray Foxes. The open meadows of The Sea Ranch are a great place to catch a sighting. Jan de Vries photographed a family of Gray Foxes recently near his Sea Ranch home.

Here the parents are enjoying the sun. Living lightly on the land is the motto of TSR and these Foxes have joined right in.

Below Mom is feeding a rambunctious Kit.

And here I think she looks a little worried - perhaps her Kit is nursing a little to enthusiastically.

And Dad keeps a careful eye on his family.

Thanks to Jan de Vries for allowing me to share his charming photos with you here.

Ospreys choose to nest on the Mendonoma Coast, a fact we are very happy about. Ospreys are fishing to feed their new babies in nests. Recently Jan de Vries had a chance to photograph one close up.

This Osprey appears to be glaring at Jan.

And below you can see the back of the Osprey.

A beautiful Bobcat was spotted by Jan de Vries hunting in the meadow outside his Sea Ranch home. The Bobcat stayed long enough for Jan to take a series of photos. One photo was published in the Independent Coast Observer this week and can be seen at http://www.mendonoma.com/. Jan has kindly allowed me to share several more photos here.

Such a healthy, beautiful Bobcat, it was probably hunting for Gophers in Jan's meadow.
