Anne Mary Schaefer knows a beautiful setting when she sees one. She recently photographed the sea stacks off of Elk, one of the most photographed spots on the coast. I always marvel at this sight when driving by.

Anne Mary has a talent for capturing the magic light. and I thank her for allowing me to share this photo with you here. Anne Mary is also a talented pet photographer. Here is her website: http://www.pawpawrazzipetphotography.com/

It is hot, hot, hot here on the coast today. Someone must have left the heater on! We are not used to such hot weather here, where the Pacific Ocean usually has a cooling effect. As I post this at 1 pm, it is 96 degrees at our place in Anchor Bay. 96 is the highest it has been since we moved here over 21 years ago. We are obviously going to break that not-so-fun record. Bring back our fog!!!

Esther Shain recently photographed a Wild Turkey mother with her three chicks.

I think the chicks are cute. Hope you agree!

Thanks to Esther for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

After an absolutely scorching day yesterday, where it was near 80 right at the ocean, and 96 degrees at our place in Anchor Bay, the fog has developed over the ocean and cooled us off some. Thank goodness for our fog air conditioning, because it's the only air conditioning we have! Down 16 degrees today.

Peggy Berryhill photographed this cloud, which she described as "cheesy." I think it looks like the craters of the moon. Either way, it's a beautiful and unusual cloud. Peggy said it disappeared almost immediately after she photographed it.

We have a heat wave arriving today. That's not unusual for early autumn but we hope it will be short-lived and the cooling, moist morning fog will return.

Thanks to Peggy for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Earth Day saw the last of a  recent series of small storms. The last one brought another beautiful rainbow, as vibrant as can be. Peggy Berryhill got this photo from Gualala Point Regional Park.

Beautiful Rainbow on Earth Day by Peggy Berryhill

This  view spot is on the way into the park. It is a favorite of many of us for taking photos of the Gualala River and the Pacific Ocean. How fortunate for us that Peggy was there at the exact moment this rainbow appeared.

The Gualala River closed Sunday night and has since filled up. I will share some photos of that soon. It's a perfect time to go kayaking on the river.

Now we are having a heat wave. With no wind the ocean looks like a lake. Locals went diving for abalone today and tomorrow looks ideal too.

Thanks to Peggy for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Patty Buechner was at Gualala Point Regional Park watching the sunset. She caught magic when she photographed the green flash.

We are having our usual autumn heat wave and that means the fog has disappeared, leaving a clear horizon. That's the recipe for a possible green flash. Not a myth, but reality - the elusive green flash is always a treat to see.

Thanks to Patty for allowing me to share her photo with you here. I have another photo of Sunday's green flash to show you tomorrow. You are bound to be amazed!
