We should be seeing the first Gray Fox kits soon. In the meantime here is Siegfried Matull's photo of a Gray Fox female that recently climbed on a tree stump on his property on The Sea Ranch.

Gray Fox on a tree stump by Siegfried Matull

Gray Foxes are great climbers. Perhaps this fox is looking for lunch or her mate.

Thanks to Siegfried for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

Cathleen Crosby was airing out a carpet on the railing of her deck. An opportunistic Gray Fox obviously thought that would be a comfortable spot to take a nice rest.

Cathleen caught this fox in a big yawn. Life is good when you're on the Mendonoma Coast!

Thanks to Cathleen for allowing me to share her photo with you.

A Gray Fox paid a visit to Rozann Grunig's The Sea Ranch home. It turned and posed so Rozann could get this photo. These Foxes are great rodent hunters. TSR seems to have a great abundance of Gophers so this small hunter is a welcome sight.

Thanks to Rozann for allowing me to share her photo with you here. To see a photo of Fox Kits, here's the link: http://www.mendonomasightings.com/2011/08/31/two-photos-of-gray-fox-kits-by-coastal-photographer-craig-tooley/

Craig Tooley and Rita Peck had several days this week to enjoy a family of Gray Foxes near their home on The Sea Ranch. Frequent readers of this blog will know that Craig got some great photographs. Below is a photo of a young Fox Kit.

And here Craig captured the mother Gray Fox nursing several of her young ones.

And this Fox Kit decided to go for a different approach - nursing in comfort on its back!

Thanks to Craig for allowing me to share his photos here. To see more of Craig's Coast photographs, here's the link to his web site: http://ruffimage.com/

Hal Fogel entitled this photo, "Don't feed the Gray Fox." It's a good idea not to feed wildlife, thus keeping them wild. Photographing them is just fine though. Thanks to Hal for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

Hal Fogel, a talented painter, was recently awarded second prize in the prestigious May Show, which is now showing at the Gualala Arts Center. Stop by the Arts Center and see Hal's work!
