Bill Budge photographed the Supermoon as it was descending. Its moonlight on the Pacific Ocean looks like it's pointing at Castle Rock. With the wispy clouds, there is a moodiness to Bill's beautiful photo.

Castle Rock is off the north end of Gualala. Thanks to Bill for allowing me to share his photo with you here.

It was sunny this morning, very welcome after all the rain! This afternoon clouds moved in and it's begun to lightly rain.

Bill Budge took this photo from his home at the north end of Gualala. There is a rock formation offshore that looks like a castle. Bill found a beautiful Fogbow recently, framing Castle Rock.

Lots of fog this morning near the ocean, but it pulled back in most places. It's been in the mid 70's at Rick's and my place in Anchor Bay this afternoon. Beautiful!

Richard Hansen photographed Castle Rock, which is found on the north end of Gualala. A submerged rock in front of it causes some major white water!

Here is one of my favorite photos taken by Richard a few years ago. The wave looks like a monster. Is the monster going to hug Castle Rock? Or???

This first full day of winter is cold and cloudy here on the Mendonoma Coast. We have some rain coming in.

Richard Hansen is the lucky person to live in Gualala and overlook Castle Rock. He has photographed various waves hitting a submerged rock in front of Castle Rock, which creates some interesting sightings. He swears this wave was ready to hug the distinctive rock.

One of my favorite photos by Richard of waves and Castle Rock is this one, taken a few years ago. It looks like a big monster is planning on hugging the rock.

Lovely sunny weather today. Lots of birds are singing their mating songs. It's a great time to be on the Mendonoma Coast.

Castle Rock sits off the north end of Gualala. Richard Hansen has a ringside seat to view the action as waves first hit a smaller rock in front of it. Richard recently photographed this interesting sea stack.
