From our Anchor Bay perch, this is what the sunset looked like last night.

Just lovely, sunsets are the gift that keeps on giving.

Yesterday, and again today, the weather has been spectacular...spectacular if you love sunny, wind-free days. We know it won't last, so let's enjoy it for now.

It's amazing how a sunset evolves, changing color and shape. I never get tired of watching them. Craig Tooley photographed last Thursday's sunset at The Sea Ranch.

And Janet Kukulinsky photographed the same sunset, a little earlier in the process.

Thanks to Craig and Janet for allowing me to share their photos with you here.

We have rain coming in for tomorrow, but we just had a shower today, Tuesday. Rain is always welcome here! Boletus edulis are popping now, and Oyster mushrooms too. Mushroom foragers have happy grins on their faces.

Julie Hidalgo took this photo at the southern end of Gualala, showing the Vue Coastal Kitchen Restaurant and the Hotel Breakers. I entitled Julie's photo "Day is Done."

An unbelievably warm day for Dec. 7th, with temps in the low 70's. It's not right, it's not normal, but it's what we have for today. I actually have my windows and doors open...amazing.

Last Saturday's sunset was so lovely. Paul Brewer was ready with his camera to capture its beauty. Sometimes you just have to watch in awe.

Last night, Wednesday night, the horizon was clear and I saw a green flash, always a treat!

Thanks to Paul for allowing me to share his photo with you here. To see much more of Paul's nature photography, here is the link to his website: http://www.capturingnatureswonders.com/

We are in the middle of a heat wave, something that happens in October pretty much every year. We did have some smoke drift in with the breezes coming from the "wrong" direction. Cooler weather ahead for the weekend, please!

Many coast residents, and visitors too I would imagine, photographed the sunset on September 22. Tricia Schuster was one of them, photographing near her Sea Ranch home.

Paul Brewer also photographed the sunset, this from the vantage of Gualala.

And I photographed it too, a little further north of Paul, from our home in Anchor Bay.

Autumn is know for beautiful sunsets, as storms to our north bring clouds, but this one from the last day of summer was one to remember.

Thanks to Tricia and Paul for allowing me to share their photos with you here.

We need the onshore breezes to return to blow away the smoke that has enveloped the coast. The forecast shows they should arrive...may it be soon!
