It seems like each sunset is different from the last.

We are waiting for a series of four storms set to come in. It's already blustery, and the surface waters of the Pacific Ocean are flowing south to north - all indications of stormy weather. After four years of drought, we say "Bring it on!"

May 2016 be filled with wonderful nature sightings!

On November 19th we were treated to an epic sunset.

Sunbeams appear to be reaching skyward and the approaching fog bank to the north added to the event. It truly was breathtaking. I took this photo from our deck in Anchor Bay. Yes, a sunset to be thankful for!

Several days ago clouds added the necessary touches for a beautiful sunset as seen from our deck in Anchor Bay. The first shows sunbeams shining through the clouds onto the Pacific Ocean.

And then the sunset.

We are having lovely weather here on the coast. I overheard two visitors congratulate themselves for vacationing here. Changes are ahead, we know, but for now we enjoy these sun-drenched days and starry nights.

Bettye Winters photographed a recent spectacular sunset over Manchester Beach.

In the far distance, where the land juts out, is where you would find the beautiful Point Arena Lighthouse.

I love how the pastel colors of the sunset are reflected in the Pacific Ocean. Just lovely...

Thanks to Bettye for allowing me to share her photo with you here.

Not everyone on the Mendonoma Coast got to see last night's beautiful sunset, as fog hugged the immediate coast. But Rick and I were able to see it unfold from our place in Anchor Bay. It lasted almost...forever.

Of course my camera can only capture a portion of the colors, so you will have to imagine the colors extending left, right, and overhead. Wow, what a wonderful sunset!

This afternoon waves have begun crashing against the shore. A storm from elsewhere is bringing high surf and dangerous conditions to beaches for today and tomorrow. Stay safe everyone.
