Hearn Gulch is such a beautiful spot, with a sea tunnel and a blowhole. Eric Duff recently photographed the scene at sunset.

Here is a photo Eric took a while ago that shows the sea tunnel with the setting sun shining through it.

And here's a photo of mine of the blowhole in action.

You find Hearn Gulch just north of Iversen Road in Mendocino County. Parking is along Highway One at mile marker 10.0. To learn more, here is the link to the Redwood Coast Land Conservancy: http://www.rclc.org/

Thanks to Eric for allowing me to share his photos with you here.

I looked out the window and gasped when I saw this sight the evening of January 22nd.

So beautiful! I took these photos from our deck in Anchor Bay. A few minutes later all was dark, and the sound of rain was heard on our roof.

Cathleen Crosby photographed another beautiful sunset. With the light reflecting up into the sky, it does look like a spotlight.

On November 15th, the sunset painted the sky in the most beautiful colors. It simply took our breath away to see it. Several coast photographers kindly sent me their photos of the event. Wendy Bailey took her photo at Anchor Bay Beach.
