Yes, we are receiving some much needed rain. When storms move through we are often left with rainbow days. Jin Sharples recently photographed a double rainbow.

One of my favorite rainbow photos was taken some time ago by Peggy Berryhill. It shows the mouth of the Gualala River.

Beautiful Rainbow on Earth Day by Peggy Berryhill

Thanks to Jin and to Peggy for allowing me to share their photos with you here.

Rainbows are a great way to start off your day. A small storm overnight brought us beautiful rainbows this morning. I took these photos from our front deck in Anchor Bay.

It's cool and blustery here on the Coast today. Too many whitecaps to see Gray Whale spouts but I bet there are some mother/calf pairs passing by unnoticed by us!

These photos are so beautiful. On March 23 we had such an unusual cloud show in the west and a magnificent rainbow formed inland. Paul Brewer photographed the rainbow over Gualala. It looks like a magical land.

And George Bush photographed it just as the sun was setting from The Sea Ranch.

You can see the setting sun reflected on the houses below. Quite a beautiful event!

Thanks to George and Paul for allowing me to share their photos with you here. You can much more of Paul's nature photography at: http://www.capturingnatureswonders.com/

A strong storm hit the Mendonoma Coast late yesterday afternoon. High winds and drenching rain were finally the story of the day. This morning we had a rainbow day. I waited until the rainbow reached Fish Rocks.

There's a hint of a second rainbow on the left.

And a photo of some of the dramatic clouds this morning.

All of these were taken from the front deck of Rick's and my home in Anchor Bay. The Pacific Ocean is very turbulent and loud. The sound of crashing waves can be heard even inside our home and we are a half mile away. Amazing!

We received 1.4 inches of rain. That was enough to get Quinliven Creek going again. With the lack of rain over the past two months, there were several places where creek went underground. We're used to that happening in May, not February! We are very thankful for the rain.

We have had little rain for the first two months of 2013. We are hoping and praying for more. We did have a very cold storm sweep through last week. It gave Nik Epanchin a change to get a beautiful rainbow photo.

Today feels like springtime here on the Coast. It's in the mid sixties and I have windows and doors open to the warm soft air. Does this sound like February to you?!

Thanks to Nik for allowing me to share his photo with you here.
