I recently showed you a video of an adult Mountain Lion, a female, and her two offspring. Now we have a sighting of an adult male. Mike Dinning wrote, “This was Sunday morning at 1:56 am, 15 feet outside the backdoor [of my house] in Point Arena, the vicinity of Ten Mile Road and Schooner Gulch. I was surprised that the Mountain Lion stood there long enough for me to take a picture.”
I sent Mike’s photo to Mountain Lion expert Quinton Martins asking if he thought Mike’s photo showed a male. Quinton wrote, “What a beauty!!! Yes, it looks like a male. Stunning.”
Thanks to Mike for allowing me to share his photo with you here.
Sunny and breezy on the Mendonoma Coast today.

Our beloved cat went missing early morning of january 11th on Gypsy Flat Rd in Anchor Bay. We found the mountain lion tracks leading up to our house and measured the pads at 4 inches. Assuming it was this male passing through.

I live down the creek on Bill Owens Road. I have lived here almost 40 years and had long iiving animals. In the last 2 years I have lost a beloved cat and dog. Of course, the mountain lions have had to follow the deer away from the fire destroyed areas. So with loss of forrest and the drought they all head towards the coast. I get it... It is still hard.

So sorry Pam! Sam and I are devastated about loosing our cat recently. I was inside when it happened a couple feet from me outside my window, and I didn’t even hear anything.
