Drew Fagan noticed this Bobcat lurking in the grasses. The cat with the tufted ears seemed to be listening to something coming.
Drew wrote,
“I grabbed my camera, figuring it must be waiting for some prey. Seconds later, a Doe and her two Fawns came down the hillside. I managed to get two photos of her chasing the Bobcat into the brush alongside the trail."
“They were both so fast, I’m surprised I got anything at all. It seems obvious that the Bobcat was waiting to bring down a Fawn. The Doe actually went into the brush after the cat, then came out and stood guard until she knew her babies were safe. They had, by some amazing signal, already scurried up the hill. Mamma ran up after them.”
Mothers of all species are fierce warriors when it comes to their young.
