Steve and Margie Truter had a heartwarming sighting last Saturday. Margie wrote, “Walking along the northern end of Manchester Beach at Irish Beach, a Deer came running towards us through the surf. We backed away from the waves to watch her frolicking through the waves until she was out of sight. We have seen tracks down on the beach before but never one in the water enjoying the waves.”
Margie took a quick video which shows the exuberance of the Doe splashing through the waves.

We know Deer swim in the ocean and in rivers. I have never seen one so obviously playing in the waves. It's quite wonderful to see.
Thanks to Margie for allowing me to share her photo and video with you here.

Jeanne, I had to tell you that I just began reading an article in the Argus Courier about grey foxes (so happy to see that type of article in our local paper!) and I was no more than three sentences in when I thought, "This is so well written, it sounds like Jeanne." So I scrolled up and, yes! There was your name! Well done! 🙂

Post authorThe Argus Courier? I guess they are in the same family as the Press Democrat. I am so glad you enjoyed my article. Thanks so much for telling me.

I loved seeing the deer video. Even though it's short you can see the absolute joy! That was fun. And Jeanne, I also really enjoyed your article in the Santa Rosa Press Democrat this week. I hope you told people to buy the PD. It was interesting and engaging. Boy, those little kits sure are photogenic, aren't they?
