I wanted to show you a close-up photo of a Brown Pelican. What better one than this splash down photo by Siegfried Matull. I love how the Pelican is reflected in the water.

It always amazes me how in the bird world the breeding males will actually change colors to attract the ladies. With humans it is usually - not always, tho - the females who dress in beautiful colors to attract the fellas.
